Lubrication

CeramicSpeed offers a range of commercially available quality lubricants to supply an exact match to each application and customer.

Lubricants are critical in allowing ball and roller bearings to function optimally. Correct lubrication is essential for the bearing life and the temperatures and noise levels.

Properly lubricated, CeramicSpeed bearings have even longer bearing lives, are more reliable, and even better protected against contamination and corrosion.

How to choose the right lubricant

There are several factors to consider when choosing the right lubricant:

Temperature range

The lubricant must match the operating temperature range of the bearing - a poorly matched lubricant will significantly reduce the bearing life.

Base oil viscosity

Generally speaking, high loads and low RPMs require high base oil viscosity. Low loads and high RPMs require low base oil viscosity. If in doubt, contact us and we will assist you.

Bearing lubricants contain three main ingredients:

1. Base oil

Which is with mineral or synthetic oils

2. Soap/thickener

To ensure that the oil remains in place.

3. Additives

To optimize lubricant properties
